For help registering you can access 
Apex Accelerator, a DoD funded resource providing one-on-one SAM registration assistance, explanations for searching for opportunities and additional guidance. You can also contact your local Small Business Development Center which offers free counseling for new vendors and is funded by the SBA.

Make sure to know your code(s) when ready to register (see Know Your Code tab).

When ready to register for SAM, know your Federal Supply Classification Code and/or North American Industry Classification Systems Code that best fits your product or service. At this stage, it's also advised to explore the socio-economic certifications that SBA offers. One or more of these may help you secure a government contract.

  • If you have identified SLD 45 as one of your customers, research their requirements and familiarize yourself with the FAR and its supplements.

SPACEWERX is a government funded organization that facilitates collaboration with small technology companies through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. SBIR and STTR provide over a billion dollars in seed capital each year for early-stage research and development (R&D) at small technology companies. They fund projects that serve a DoD need and also have commercial applications.
