Environmental Programs

Environmental Commitment

Local environmental concerns for Space Launch Delta 45, Patrick Space Force Base, include the management of stormwater to improve Banana River's water quality, the protection of our listed wildlife species and working to complete historic records for our historically significant facilities.

As 'The World's Premier Gateway to Space' and in support of Air Force Policy 90-8, SLD 45 is committed to:

Sustaining the mission and the environment through a conforming environmental management system.
Promoting continuous environmental process improvement to enhance mission operations, increase regulatory compliance and lower operating costs.
Achieving reduction of adverse environmental impacts through effective recycling, pollution prevention and conservation efforts.
Complying with all Federal, State and local regulatory requirements.
Educating through training and community involvement.

Public involvement is essential for success in the various environmental programs throughout the U.S. Air and Space Forces. The goal of public involvement is to inform and involve audiences during critical decision-making windows in various U.S. Air and Space Force Environment, Safety and Occupational Health programs.
