Inspections

Inspections (IGI)

The Inspector General Inspections (IGI) team executes the Commander’s Inspection Program (CCIP). Our mission is to provide commanders with an independent, objective assessment of the unit’s ability to comply with established policies and directives, while also identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.

Delivering Critical Data to Leadership

IGI provides commanders and senior leaders with critical, data-driven insights regarding the adequacy of current policies, training programs, and resource allocations. Our assessments are designed to support commanders in four key areas:

  • Leading People: Ensuring personnel are properly trained, equipped, and supported.
  • Executing the Mission: Verifying that mission objectives can be met under current conditions.
  • Improving the Unit: Identifying areas for process improvement and innovation.
  • Managing Resources: Highlighting opportunities to optimize the use of funds, equipment, and facilities.

Supporting Continuous Improvement

In addition to conducting inspections, IGI manages several internal tracking and assessment programs, including the Management Internal Control Toolset (MICT), Inspector General Evaluation Management System (IGEMS), and Gatekeeper. These tools enable us to monitor compliance, track corrective actions, and provide real-time feedback to commanders and stakeholders. By leveraging these systems, we ensure that identified issues are addressed promptly and that units remain on a path of continuous improvement.
