The 45th Force Support Squadron holds a grand opening for the Beach house noon to 7 p.m., April 26, after a lengthy closure for renovation.

"It looks awesome!" said Maj. Gregory Jones, the 45th FSS commander. "Funded two years before any worries about sequestration, we are now opening the Beach House April 26, and you will be amazed."

The grand opening theme is "Tank Tops & Flip Flops," and all 45th Space Wing personnel, mission partners and family members are invited to attend. Shuttles will run from the south Tides parking lot, the youth center and Bldg. 415.

Complimentary hot dogs, hamburgers, fresh fruit, cheese trays, potato chips, frozen drinks, sodas and bottled water will be available. A wet slide, bounce house sandcastle decorating, beach bike races, treasure hunt and flip-flop decorating activities will be held for the kids.

The full-service cash bar will also be in operation. Representatives from Patrick's Airman Against Drunk Driving will be available from noon to 8 p.m.

"The Beach House was designed to be the hub of Patrick AFB beach
life," Major Jones said. "We have food and drinks as well as rentals of boogie and surf boards, Segways, fishing poles, and everything else you need for the beach. You've got to check it out."

The Beach House will begin its regular operating hours April 27. The outdoor recreation section is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays. The food and bar section is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays.
