The City of Cocoa is temporarily changing their water treatment from a chlorine/ammonia mix to just chlorine. They have issued a notice addressing any concerns and informing consumers of a potential chlorine odor issue. The change is not a health risk concern. However, the notice does caution kidney dialysis patients and fish owners to be aware of the change in water chemistry.

The change goes into effect starting Feb. 22, 2025, and continues through March 22, 2025. This will impact both Patrick SFB and Cape Canaveral SFS.
