The Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station key spouses worked with Together We Rise over the past seven weeks to aid local foster children in transitioning to a new home.

The project consisted of creating 48 'Sweet Cases' filled with items such as teddy bears, coloring books and crayons, toothbrush kits, fleece blankets, puzzles and playing cards. In addition to the bags aimed toward younger children, they put together 10 additional bags just for teens.

The bags were dropped off to Brevard Family Partnerships, a local foster agency that takes in hundreds of children each year out of homes due to abuse, neglect and abandonment.

"This project was incredibly rewarding as we got to decorate the bags before we put all of the items in them," said Ainsley Gottrich, a key spouse. "It was fun to see how creative we could get and be able to put a little extra love into each bag. The children who receive these bags will be able to take them with them wherever they travel."

Together We Rise is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of motivated young adults and former foster youth. TWR works with hundreds of foster agencies, social workers, CASA advocates, and other partners to bring programs to foster youth across the nation.
