CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION -- A Thanksgiving evening launch from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station was aborted just moments away from liftoff.
This would have been the first Thanksgiving Day launch along the Space Coast since 1959.
"We called manual abort. Better to be paranoid and wrong. Bringing rocket down to borescope engines ..." SpaceX chief Elon Musk tweeted shortly after the Falcon 9 rocket was ready to lift off at 5:38 p.m. ET.
Falcon 9 was then brought down from the launch pad so it could be inspected.
"Likely a few days before next attempt," read a post on SpaceX's website.
The exact launch date is still to be determined at the present time.
