Air Force names top paralegal

PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Air Force recently lauded a member of the 45th Space Wing for her service.

Tech. Sgt. Dawn Wolfe of the 45th Judge Advocate's office has been named Outstanding Paralegal Airman of the Year.

Sergeant Wolfe, currently non-commissioned officer in charge of claims and legal assistance at Patrick, was honored for her service as NCOIC of Detainee Judicial and Legal Policy in support of the Multi-National Force at Camp Victory in Baghdad.

"My key to success is working for people who give you the opportunity to work hard and excel," said Sergeant Wolfe.

After arriving at Patrick in 2005, Sergeant Wolfe volunteered for a six-month tour in Iraq, where she was assigned to Camp Victory from June to December 2006.

Sergeant Wolfe's duties while deployed included performing inspections of detention centers to ensure their compliance with U.S. policy and fielding questions about detainee treatment.

This work led her to create a checklist that has become a standard for detention center inspections in Iraq.

"[Sergeant Wolfe] is the epitome of a professional Airman with a can-do attitude in everything she does," said Lt. Col. Ferah Ozbek, 45th Space Wing judge advocate.

"Her exemplary initiative, technical skills, dedication to duty and leadership abilities makes her stand out, and the backbone of every office to which she is assigned," said Colonel Ozbek.
