Wing Holiday and Post-CUI Party Dec. 16

The 45th Space Wing Holiday and Post-CUI Party starts at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Beach House. Wing members and their families are encouraged to attend.

Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Anthony Cotton has designated the event as an official function.

Civilian employees of 45 SW released from work by their supervisors to attend may do  so without charge to leave. Employees who choose not to participate in this function  must be at their normal work location or be on leave.

Similarly, employees departing from the event before the end of their scheduled workday should return to their normal work area or take leave.

Civilian dress is authorized for military. Casual dress is encouraged for all.

Santa's Sand Fest will be held 2-9 p.m. at the Beach House.

"This is a family event and personnel are encouraged to bring their entire family to enjoy the festivities," said Tony Boob, 45th Community Services Flight deputy. "The event will feature kid's activities, free beach equipment rentals, live entertainment, free food and soft drinks, and pay-as-you-go bar service."

Guests can enjoy pulled pork sandwiches, corn on the cob, wings, pizza, hotdogs, chips, fruit and cheese trays, and desserts.

Children can enjoy the Li'l Reindeer Area, featuring clowns, magicians, face painting, balloon sculpturing, stilt walkers and a bounce house along with Santa's workshop featuring arts and crafts projects, along with pictures with Santa.

"The Beach House opens at 2 p.m. with beverage service available and free beach rentals," said Mr. Boob.

General Cotton is scheduled to officially kick off the event with opening remarks at 3 p.m.

"This will be followed by food booths opening as MCs take to the stage live," said Mr. Boob. "As the sun sets, the entire family can enjoy watching the movie 'Polar Express' at dark on the Outdoor Cinema, along with Christmas Story Readings, and Jessica Ottway performs on acoustic guitar at the tiki bar."

Overflow parking shuttle service is available from The Tides Club South parking lot.
