MERRIT ISLAND, Fla. -- Brig. Gen. Anthony Cotton, commander, 45th Space Wing, and Capt. J.P. Heatherington, commander, Naval Ordnance Test Unit, served as guest speakers for the 2012 Veterans Day Event: "Honoring All Who Serve," held at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island on Nov. 10.

During the event, the members of the 45th Space Wing Honor Guard posted the colors and Sailors from the Naval Ordnance Test Unit provided the 21-Gun Salute, as well as their own Honor Guard.

The event was put on to honor those who have served in the military--past and present. Gen. Cotton paid tribute to those who lost their lives fighting for our country.

"If there is one thing we never want to forget, it's that freedom is never free," he said.
