The 45th Contracting Squadron was selected for two individual and one unit level awards out of seven Air Force Space Command Annual Contracting Awards.

The 45th CONS was awarded the AFSPC Outstanding Contracting Unit Award. They managed a $20 billion portfolio in support of one of the Air Force's most outsourced missions. The squadron also managed the Department of Defense's largest Instrumentation Radar support contract of $143 million, which kept 23 worldwide ranges operationally ready.

Ms. Kathy Jackson, 45th CONS cost analyst, was awarded the AFSPC Outstanding Pricing Award. She led the pricing of 20 negotiated actions in excess of $88 million, and her analysis yielded $4.5 million total in contract savings.

Ms. Miranda Firth, 45th CONS deputy commander, was awarded the AFSPC Professionalism in Contracting Award. Ms. Firth implemented $24 million Launch Operations Support Contract, Infrastructure Operations and Maintenance Services, and Eastern Range Technical Services Fiscal Year 2012 cuts and maintained 100 percent launch and payload success rates.

"I am extremely pleased that AFSPC recognized the men and women of the 45th Contracting Squadron for their outstanding contributions to the mission," said Lt. Col. Tommy Gates, 45th CONS commander. "They are an impressive team whose professionalism and commitment are as equally noteworthy as their accomplishments."

AFSPC gives the awards to contracting squadrons that show outstanding achievement in the career field and have an impact on the Air Force's ability to make suitable contracts with companies.
