CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, FLA. – The United States Space Force inaugural T-Minus 10-Miler will lift-off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station next year, Dec. 10, 2022.
This 10-mile race will be a part of the Space Force birthday celebration each year, and will take place surrounded by space launch history, at Cape Canaveral SFS.
“Cape Canaveral is quite literally where space launch started for the United States,” said Brig. Gen. Stephen Purdy, Space Launch Delta 45 Commander. “We look forward to thousands of runners enjoying stepping through history, as they ponder the past, future, and get lost in space as we do.”
Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Patrick Space Force Base were the first locations to be re-designated as Space Force installations, Dec. 9, 2020, adding to the notable relevance of the USSF T-Minus 10-Miler location.
“Traditions such as this are important touchpoints as we continue to cultivate and build a unique service culture that reflects the proud heritage of space. As we celebrate the past, in true birthday fashion, we also look to the future – a future defined by Guardians and the space capabilities they deliver every day for our nation,” said Director of Staff of the U.S. Space Force, Lt. Gen. Nina Armagno.
