Innovate Now: 6-month project status Published June 25, 2014 By Maj. Laura Robinson 5th Space Launch Squadron PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Action: June is action month; which means it is the midpoint to evaluate progress such as how ideas are submitted, processed, followed-up on and implemented. It has been a busy six months. The Innovate Now project team successfully kicked off the project in January, bringing a process online within 30 days by which Team Patrick-Cape members could submit their ideas. And you did. Sixty-two submissions came in ranging from waiver requests for redundant processes to finding creative ways to release weather balloons in inclement environments. Each submission was evaluated by subject matter experts and a member of the Innovate Now team. Forty-eight of those submissions have moved forward in the process to be assessed for possible implementation. We are on the verge of implementing several significant cost-effective ideas...stay tuned for those results. On behalf of the Innovate Now Team, I would like to thank those who submitted ideas. Please keep them coming. We are encouraged by your creative and mission-focused suggestions. (Editor's note: This commentary is June's submission and part of a monthly series from the Innovate Now Team.)
