John Faulkner, 45th Civil Engineer Squadron deputy, helped with the release of the Juvenile red-shouldered hawk Jan. 26, 2017, at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The hawk was found near the Trident Basin Dec. 8, 2016, unable to fly and was then transported to the Florida Wildlife Hospital where they discovered he had two detached retinas. The hawk was successfully rehabilitated and turned back over to the 45th Space Wing for release. (Courtesy photo)
