CCAFS launch operations resume after Hurricane Matthew
A United Launch Alliance shipment arrives at port via the Mariner Oct. 12, 2016 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The 45th Space Wing worked with ULA to ensure operations resumed within a week following Hurricane Matthew. Due to the potential impact of the storm, CCAFS closed Oct. 6, 2016 to ensure the safety of the installation and personnel. According to ULA, the large cargo ship takes approximately eight days to transport the vehicle hardware from the Decatur, Ala., factory to the launch site along the Tennessee River to the open ocean.
