Wing Commander welcomes base residents returning after Hurricane Matthew
Brig. Gen. Wayne Monteith, 45th Space Wing Commander, welcomes Airman 1st Class Samantha Westerman, 45th Aerospace Medicine Squadron’s Public Health Flight, at the South Gate as she returns back on base after Hurricane Matthew Oct. 8, 2016. Monteith spent more than eight hours personally thanking residents for their patience and positive attitude for weathering the storm with the wing team. The general had a first-hand look at everyone's personal well-being and an opportunity to provide them an informational handout on base safety concerns and the boil water notice. Westerman was pleasantly surprised to see the Wing Commander at the gate and praised the level of communication she received throughout the storm. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Shawn Walleck)
