45th OSS ensures safe flying operations at Patrick AFB
Senior Airmen Damon Sheperd, airfield management operations supervisor, and Henson Greene, airfield management shift lead, measure distances between aircraft to ensure there is adequate wingtip clearance at Patrick Air Force Base, Fla., July 28, 2016. The Airmen are members of the 45th Operations Support Squadron who ensure the airfield is safe for all flying operations with routine checks of the flightline area, which includes verifying adequate wing tip clearance that prevents aircraft from being too close to each other or equipment parked nearby. During the month of July they helped the 45th Space Wing host visiting A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from 924th Fighter Group, stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, who were here to train with the 920th Rescue Wing's helicopter squadron, the 301st Rescue Squadron, July 18 to 29, 2016.
