Wing hosts Gopher Tortoise Candidate Conservation meeting

The 45th Space Wing hosted the event here to show the group how they manage and protect gopher tortoise habitat on the Air Force's Eastern Range. Meeting participants from federal, state and the local agencies, as well other stakeholders are signing parties of the Candidate Conservation Agreement whose purpose to implement proactive gopher tortoise conservation measures across its eastern range which includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama and parts of South Carolina.
