Explosive Ordnance Disposal team holds fundraiser for EOD memorial foundation
Staff Sgt. Bruce Thomashunis, left, and Senior Airman Matthew Morris, right, are still standing after running the 5k Fun Run in their bomb suits to raise money for the EOD Memorial Foundation. Each bomb suit weighs approximately 80 pounds! Every year at Eglin AFB there is a Memorial and Ball to honor all of the fallen EOD Technicians from the past year. All the donations they receive go into the cost of flying and housing the families of the fallen during the weekend of the ceremonies. The memorial will be held on May 7 and they will be honoring 15 EOD technicians who gave their lives in the past year.
