U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Brian Vosper, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency explosive ordnance disposal technician, uses a pin pointer metal detector and a hand tool to excavate a flagged metal hit during a pre-deployment site survey in Vietnam, May 24, 2025. EOD technicians use a metal detector to search for possible aircraft wreckage and other metal that can give DPAA personnel a better picture of where incidents may have occurred. There are currently 1,567 U.S. personnel who remain unaccounted-for from the Vietnam War. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Kathy Duran)
