In Memoriam – 45th Space Wing celebrates the life of Mr. Nicholas Byrnside
The flag will be flown at half-staff Friday, March 30th in honor of Mr. Nicholas C. Byrnside, Chief, Safety Analysis, who passed away on March 19. He was 78 years old. For more than 50 years, Mr. Byrnside proudly served and supported the United States Navy and United States Air Force, where he had a tremendous impact on the United States space program. The financial impact is devastating, based on 2010 numbers, the most recent year for which cost data is available, impaired driving crashes cost the United States $44 billion annually, according to the CDC. As Hurricane Irma threatened the area early morning on Sept. 11, 2017, the 45th Space Wing was already preparing for reconstitution efforts. Deparment of Defense 2016 Feds Feed Families Campaign logo. On June 10, 2016, the U.S. Department of Agriculture kicked off the 8th annual governmentwide Feds Feed Families Food Drive Campaign. The campaign will run through August 31, 2016. The 2016 FFF slogan is "Feds Fighting Hunger." Defense Department employees nationwide have been asked to answer the call to fight hunger.

Colonels Shawn Fairhurst, 45th Space Wing vice commander, Daniel Gottrich, 45th SW chief of safety,Shannon Klug, 45th Weather Squadron commander, pose with one of their high school's yearbook and the inserted photos in the graphic show photos of them as students of James W. Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Va., in the late 1980s. Fairhurst’s senior photo is in Klug’s 1986 yearbook where she was featured as a junior. She graduated in 1987 and Gottrich graduated in 1988.
