Baseball wasn't the only thing on the mind of over 4,500 attendees at the Florida State League All Star game. Appreciation for the US Air Force and the soldiers of Patrick Air Force Base reached new heights as the crowd witnessed the fly-over of a 920th Rescue Wing HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter following the presentation of the Colors by the 45th Space Wing Honor Guard.

The crowd was also left in awe during the seventh inning stretch as TSgt Jennifer Harris, 920th Rescue Wing, belted out a fabulous rendition of "God Bless America."

Iraq veteran, Col Philip Manning, Vice Commander, 920th Rescue Wing, and 1st Lt Karl Wiest, 45th Space Wing, and recent Bronze Star recipient for his service in Afghanistan each threw out the first pitch to start the game.

The 45th Space Wing is hosting Air Force Week 2010 across Central Florida the week of October 26 to 31. The Cocoa Beach Air Show, October 30-31, will culminate the week featuring Airpower demonstrations by the USAF Thunderbirds and various other Air Force aircraft.

Updates about Air Force Week in Florida will be posted to the 45th Space Wing's Facebook page.
