I'm sure you've all seen or heard about the SpaceX launch mishap that occurred Sunday morning, just over two minutes into flight.  This is a shocking event for the 45th Space Wing and for the Space Coast, and certainly a setback for SpaceX.

No one was injured and no launch infrastructure property was damaged.  In the difficult and dangerous business that is Space Launch; those two facts are very positive.

Also, in the face of Sunday's tragedy, the launch team was excellent.

Their performance was professional as they calmly executed the procedures we have for just such an event.

I am proud of this team.  And I need everyone to understand that we continue to have major launch preparations, on-going, at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station as well as important work everywhere else across this wing.

Just like I saw the range team do last Sunday, I need Sharks of the 45th Space Wing to rely on our training, and to put a laser focus on the mission at hand.

Stay Focused, Sharks!
