To the Air Force Space Command Family,

Each November, the Thanksgiving holiday provides the Air Force Space Command family with the opportunity to count our many blessings and to celebrate those blessings with family and friends.

Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest travel period of the year, and whether your plans include local area travel or an extended journey, I encourage every member of the Air Force Space Command family to temper the anticipation and excitement of time spent among family and friends with prudent planning and sound risk management.

Please be vigilant; plan additional travel time for heavy traffic and inclement weather, take frequent breaks if traveling long distances, NEVER mix alcohol and driving and be on guard for others who might.

In short, take necessary steps to make the memories of this holiday pleasant, not tragic.

Finally, as we go into the long holiday weekend, I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each of you for your contributions to our vital missions and dedicated service to our Nation.  Please also take a moment to express my thanks to your families for their untiring support as well.

Laura and I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and look forward to hearing that everyone has returned safe, secure and energized following the holiday weekend.
