One Team…One fight Published Aug. 26, 2010 By Col. Loretta Kelemen Commander, 45th Mission Support Group Patrick AFB, Fla. -- I have had the absolute privilege of being a part of the mighty Mission Support Group Tiger Sharks for just over two months. During this time, I've had the opportunity to see heroes at work every day, doing whatever is necessary to ensure mission success. Whether it is our dedicated fire department, responding to a fire in our dormitories on the 4th of July holiday... to our Civil Engineer warriors working overtime to build a wall by A1A to ensure children do not wander onto the road and rebuilding the perimeter fence over the weekend due to a breach from a car accident to ensure base security ... to our devoted Child Development Center employees providing the best childcare in Brevard county for the future of America, our children ... to Detachment 1 preparations to respond to possible launch catastrophes ... to Security Forces Squadron's quick response to a base intruder ensuring proper security of base personnel and their families... to our contracting squadron tirelessly working to close on end of year activities allowing this base to benefit from last minute MAJCOM windfall dollars ... to logistics readiness' focused efforts to flawlessly process our deployers to their overseas locations. There is not enough white space in this newspaper for me to describe all of the heroes I've seen during the last nine weeks, but suffice to say that all the heroic efforts are for one purpose...to provide quality mission support to assure success of the wing's launch, range and expeditionary operations and provide comprehensive support to our mission partners. MSG does what we do, so the Ops Group, Launch Group, and Medical Group - along with our mission partners -- can focus on the important work they need to do. Everyone is critical to the fight and, like members of a body, it takes each and every one of us to successfully launch rockets like the Atlas V on Aug. 14 , which carried the newest state of the art DoD communications satellite providing critical capabilities to our warfighters in theater. It takes all of us and I must say I AM PROUD TO BE...MSG!!!!
