Catch people at their best Published Feb. 16, 2012 By Maj. Robert Jackson Commander, 45th Force Support Squadron PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Today's Air Force is a fast-paced, sometimes hectic place to work. In this type of environment, we sometimes tend to focus on only the things that are not going right, because that is the only thing we have time for. Our people, however, deserve to be caught at their best. Being in the 45th Force Support Squadron, I get to catch our professionals at their best each and every day. If you've ever had the privilege of renewing your ID card, I'm sure you've run into Staff Set. Durant Leonardo. Despite being in one of the most pressure-packed offices on the base, she never loses her smile and willingness to help others, no matter the issue or the time of day. In a very thankless job, Sergeant Leonardo consistently shines. At our Child Development Center, Ms. Yvette Rogers provided emergency CPR on a child who stopped breathing. Her efforts were instrumental in helping the child until emergency rescue personnel arrived. She's just one example of the many fine professionals at the Child Development Center who work tirelessly so the mission can be carried out. Our Fitness Center staff is constantly looking for ways to make you fitter and stronger. Just stop by any of Ms. Tammy Shelley Boot Camp classes and you'll see what I mean. You know you've had a great workout when muscles you didn't even know you had hurt the next day; Ms. Shelley knows exactly how to make that happen. Ms. Jennifer Monroe at the Base Library is constantly looking for ways to reach out to the community and provide a rich, vibrant learning environment. The services the Library offers are second-to-none thanks in large part to Ms. Monroe's tireless efforts. Stop by the Bowling Center and you'll run into Mr. Chuck Cihal. Mr. Cihal recently developed a plan to provide bowling free of charge for Resiliency Day. Mr. Cihal never shies away from an opportunity to give back to his community. There are of course many more fine professionals that we could point out in the 45th Force Support Squadron doing great things for people. Make sure you take the time to recognize the people in your units doing the same.
