Our squadron war cry is FSS ... We Never Rest!

Having responsibility for all things Food, Fitness, Fun, Families, and Force Support, there is always something we are working on for the benefit of the Wing, its Mission Partners and their families.

Most people are familiar with some of the more visible services we provide such as issuing ID cards and PCS orders, running the Tides and DFAC, Base Library and Fitness Center and providing recreation opportunities through Outdoor Recreation, the Golf Course, Marina, Commons, Famcamp, and the Beach House.

However there are a host of less visible, yet vital services we provide to the wing. For example, our Resources Management Flight (RMF) is responsible for providing guidance on the establishment of private organizations which serve as a tool to increase unit morale. The RMF is also responsible to issuing FSS Bucks which are coupons FSS donates to wing units for morale and welfare programs. To date, FSS has donated $7.6K.

Another vital service we provide is Manpower and Organization (MO). Many people tend to view MO as the "body snatchers" however this is simply not the case. MO ensures the wing has all of its required authorizations and fights on the wing's behalf when Higher Headquarters try and take wing authorizations. MO also runs efficiency studies to analyze whether or not a unit is most efficiently using its manpower. MO is responsible for managing 1,977 authorizations valued at $238.4M.

The last vital service we provide is casualty and mortuary assistance. In the event of an active duty death, the mortuary team inspects the remains ensuring correct preparation and dress and that the remains and family members are transported to the funeral location. The casualty team ensures the next of kin is notified of the death and are briefed on their entitlements. Both of these missions are no fail and we have to get it right every time and we do!

I could go on and on but I won't. In closing, though not glamorous, the service we provide in support of launching rockets is vitally important and I could not be any prouder of the men and women of the 45th Force Support Squadron and the great work we do on behalf of the 45th Space Wing.
