To the Men and Women of Air Force Space Command,

On Sept. 5, we pay tribute to the millions of dedicated men and women who, through their hard work, have contributed to the strength, prosperity and well-being of our country. Labor Day is a time to acknowledge our Nation’s work force, while reflecting on our own efforts to protect this great nation and maintain the principles that keep us free.

The Labor Day weekend is also the last long weekend of the summer and many of you will hit the roads for mini-vacations and/or take advantage of the multitude of activities that are available in your area. Whatever you do, please take proper precautions, practice good risk management and plan accordingly with safety in mind.

Laura and I want to thank each and every member of the Air Force Space Command family for your continued hard work and dedication in defending America’s freedom. Take time to reward yourself for the accomplishments that help make this the greatest nation on earth.  I ask that each of you keep safety a priority by making the "right" decisions in everything you do. Your family, friends, and fellow Airmen depend on you.  Have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend.
