2009 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign a resounding success Published April 16, 2009 By Capt. Michael Lynn AFAF Project Officer PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 2009 Patrick Air Force Base/Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) campaign, "Commitment to Caring", officially concluded April 10. The campaign, which kicked off March 2, was a resounding success. The goal for this year's 6-week campaign was $39,201 with 100 percent contact of all assigned AF personnel. Thanks to the generous contributions of the men and women of PAFB/CCAFS and their Mission Partners, as well as, donations from those in the local community, the 2009 AFAF campaign was one of the most successful in history. The 2009 AFAF campaign exceeded its goal with more than $48,000 collected in donations and more contributions are still coming in. While beating the goal by nearly $10,000 is a good accomplishment, more importantly is the fact that the PAFB/CCAFS community stepped up and raised money for charities that provide support to the Air Force family, during a time of tough economic conditions. Special thanks goes out to all of the Unit Project Officers and section key workers that were instrumental in canvassing all their people and getting the word out helping make this year's campaign a success.
