Sports Week kicked-off here Monday, Oct. 4 up at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's WarFit Field with Opening Ceremonies and a parade of athletes.

Sports week, which will culminate today with the Awards Ceremony in Hangar 751 following the Tug-of-War competition, was organized by the Patrick Fitness Center staff and facilitated by volunteers from all across the Wing.

Sporting events, such as Track Events, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, a 5 kilometer run and many more, were held throughout the week at CCAFS and here at Patrick.

The top-finishers in each event won points for their unit and the final results of the team championship will be announced today by Brig. Gen. Ed Wilson, 45th SW commander, at the Awards Ceremony.

The events thus far have been very competitive.

"It has been an exciting week," said 2nd Lt. Cait Suttie, a 2010 Air Force Academy graduate who just recently arrived at Patrick and has been competing on the Wing-Staff team.  "People are really pushing themselves in every competition, which is good for their units and for their own individual physical fitness.  It will be interesting to see which team will come out on top at the end of today."
