The Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute is seeking base-wide support of a food drive for a community food pantry.

The Central Brevard Sharing Center in Cocoa provides basic needs assistance to individuals and families who reside in central Brevard County. Last year, the center provided more than 45,000 meals.

"The food pantry shelves at the center are almost bare," said Army Master Sgt. Belinda Justice. "DEOMI would like to include others on Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral AFS for this food drive."

The current food drive started July 10 and ends Aug. 28.

Anyone interested in helping with the food drive may donate non-perishable food items, including canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter and jelly, pasta, noodles, spa-ghetti sauce, powdered milk, oatmeal, rice, macaroni and cheese, and canned or dry soup.

Items can be dropped off at the front entrance of DEOMI, 366 Tuskegee Airmen Drive, Bldg. 352, Patrick AFB.

For further information, contact Sergeant Justice, (321) 759-1177.
