Anyone entering Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral AFS can expect lots of exercise scenarios on base and some delays during the 45th Space Wing's Operational Readiness Inspection, March 11-25.

Delays are expected at gates and wait times may increase at some customer service areas during the inspection and its related exercises.

"Please be patient," said Maj. Mike James, 45th SW Inspector General chief inspections and exercises. "During certain force protection conditions people may have to show their IDs to get into buildings, for instance."

Wing members will be put through their paces in a number of different exercise scenarios, including employment, deployment and major accident response exercises, security incidents and fire responses.

"The public on this base will be inconvenienced during these two weeks during these exercises," said Bob Grijalva, 45th SW Inspector General exercise evaluation team chief. "It's very important people be patient and give us the opportunity to do our jobs during the ORI. Roads will be blocked. We don't know what the IG team will be throwing at us and where, but it will inconvenience people going to the shopette, base theater and other sites."
