Airman Helps Save Stabbing Victim
Brig. Gen. Anthony Cotton, 45th Space Wing commander, congratulates Staff Sgt. Jesus Pino, 45th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Sept. 8, after awarding him a commander’s coin for his part in the rescue and treatment of a stabbing victim from a car sinking in the Indian River, just a few miles from Patrick AFB. Master Sgt. Rodney Huffman, 45th Space Communications Squadron Superintendent, Master Sgt. Kenneth Swainston, a Reservist with the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick, and Sergeant Pino are all credited with helping a Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy rescue and treat the woman Sept. 6, after the deputy had just shot a suspect who had been stabbing the woman in the passenger seat of the partially submerged car.
