Environmental Commitment Statement

The SLD 45 provides combat capabilities through launch, range and expeditionary operations. Local environmental concerns include managing stormwater to improve water quality in the Banana River, protecting our listed wildlife species and working to complete historic records for our historically significant facilities. As the "world's premier gateway to space“ and in support of Air Force Policy 90-8, SLD 45 is committed to:
         • Sustain the mission and the environment through a conforming environmental management system.
         • Promote continuous improvement of environmental processes to enhance mission operations, increase regulatory
            compliance and lower operating costs
          • Achieve reduction of adverse environmental impacts through effective recycling, pollution prevention and conservation
            efforts.
          • Comply with all Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
          • Educate through training and community involvement.
